This car has been built to be driven and enjoyed. The engine, transmission and suspension have all been upgraded to make the car more powerful, cruize at highway speeds comfortably and handle corners like a true ‘Pony Car’ should! If you are after an all stock Mustang, you might want to look elsewhere. If you want to have a car that will keep things interesting, read on!

This Mustang has been repainted in Rangoon Red about 5 years ago and has been garage kept since. The paint is nice with tons of shine and luster, but it is not perfect. It has had a few rock chips and door nicks that have been touched up. It is nice enough for weekend shows, sunny day cruizing without the horror of a $20k paint job that makes a car undriveable (not that most people would even know the difference). The body appears to be rust free with no visible rust bubbles in the rockers, quarters, fenders or doors. At some point the car has had a front clip replaced from a donor car and the new aprons appear to be in good shape. The floors have each been patched and seam sealed with the correct panels. The trunk pan is in excellent original condition. The torque boxes, trunk drop-offs and frame rails are very nice as well.

The interior has been restored with reproduction door panels, seat upholstery and a custom fit carpet kit. This is a very nice interior and a design that was perfect from the factory! The only additions are an aftermarket stereo that is custom made for the Mustang dash and updated seat belts front and rear. Otherwise it is as Ford intended!

The original convertible top has been replaced and looks great, see pics! The structure underneath is clean and has had new weatherstrip installed.  

This ‘65 Mustang Convertible started life out as a humble 6 Cylinder. No longer the case, thankfully. Under the hood now lives a 289 Cubic Inch V8 that has been upgraded with Trick Flow Specialties Aluminum Cylinder Heads, Performance Camshaft (.224/.230 Duration, .512 Lift), Quiet Gear Drive, Roller Rockers, Performer RPM Intake, Carter Carb, Pertronix Ignition, Ceramic Coated Headers and MORE!!! The engine runs excellent with a nice, mild, lope to the idle. The transmission has been upgraded to an Automatic Overdrive with components from Windsor-Fox. The driveshaft is a brand new unit and the rearend has been upgraded to a bullet-proof 9″ complete with 3.70 gears.

The tiny 6 cyl fuel line has been replaced with a braided stainless 3/8″ fuel line from front to back!

The factory wimpy 6 cyl suspension has been completely replaced with larger (620lb) springs in the front and 5 leaf mid-eye springs in the rear. The tiny front sway bar has been replaced with a 1″ and in the rear a 3/4″ sway bar has been added. KYB Gas-A-Just shocks are new at each corner. The car now loves corners and handles like a performance car with a good solid ride.

The rims are reproductions of the originals and are in excellent condition. The tires likewise are in great condition and ready for some cruizing!
