Restored Numbers Matching Shelby GT350 351 V8 4 Speed

Here at RK Motors Charlotte we have a tradition of offering you the finest muscle cars in the world. So, it’s only natural that, when we found this awesome, documented Candyapple Red 1969 Shelby GT350, we simply couldn’t wait to get it up on our website! Still equipped with its numbers matching 351 V8 and 4-speed manual transmission, it’s a top notch example of one of the rarest Shelby Mustangs ever produced. And better still, it’s fresh out of a complete concours restoration during which every inch of its metal was expertly detailed to practically define the term “investment grade”. If you’re the kind of enthusiast who wants to experience the very best of owning a high caliber muscle car, this fully sorted GT350 is the car for you!

According to the original build sheet, backed up by the Marti Auto Works Report, this Shelby GT350 Mustang was assembled on January 13th of 1969 in Dearborn, Michigan with the following door data and options:

DOOR PLATE:

9 – 1969 Model Year
F – Assembled in Dearborn, Michigan
02 Shelby Fastback
M – 351-4V Engine
406th Shelby vehicle scheduled for production at Fords Dearborn assembly plant
63C Shelby Fastback
T5 – Candyapple Red Paint: Ford #2008-A with blackout hood treatment
3WA – White Clarion Knit/Corinthian Vinyl Hi-Back Bucket Seats
17A – Scheduled For Build on January 17th, 1969
842520 Home Office Reserve Ordering District Under Special Order #2520
R – 3.25 Traction-Lok Axle Ratio
6 – 4-Speed Close Ratio Manual Transmission

OPTIONS:
4-speed close ratio manual transmission
Traction-Lok differential
Visibility group
Goodyear brand name tires
Sport deck rear seat
Power front disc brakes
Power steering
Tilt-away steering wheel
Power ventilation
AM radio
Complete tinted glass
Deluxe belts with warning light
Tachometer and trip odometer

Assembled four days ahead of schedule, this awesome 1969 GT350 was shipped to Sexton Ford in Moline, Illinois and spent less than two months in the showroom before its big power and big style was unleashed on the small town streets. This year, after almost 35 years of accident free driving and excellent maintenance, it underwent a highly detailed concours restoration during which all of its panels were stripped to bare metal and thoroughly worked to ensure a super smooth surface with laser straight lines. Once the body was fully prepped and displayed an excellent level of fit and finish, a correct coat of Candyapple Red basecoat was laid under correct tip-to-tail stripes, buried in a thick clearcoat and buffed to a fantastic shine. Today, this Mustang is a no-questions-asked show car which is a top notch example of some of the coolest and most desirable muscle to ever come out of Dearborn, Michigan.

The front end design on this slick Shelby was completely new in 1969 and still looks fresh today. Both the fenders and the hood are fiberglass and create a large rectangular grille opening which carries a chrome Shelby emblem and two seven inch headlights inside a broad chrome band and silver trim. Below that grille, ornate parking lights hang in a hollow front valence; and behind that grille, a functional ram air hood utilizes five NASA scoops to provide fresh air to the cars intake system and ventilate the engine bay. At the top of the car, like-new glass is framed by bright stainless trim, satin finished wipers, and correct color-keyed race mirrors which reflect on brand new door handles. And at the sides of the car, a smooth and modern profile trades traditional Mustang ornamentation for integrated front and rear brake ducts, and fresh-out-of-the-box B-pillar emblems. Behind those B-pillar emblems, a solid fiberglass decklid is augmented by traditional Shelby extensions to create a prominent rear spoiler. And ‘65 Thunderbird tail lights are centered between a pristine Shelby decklid insert, a showroom fresh chrome bumper, chrome trimmed reverse lights, and a unique aluminum exhaust collector.

Now that you’ve waded through all the flowery prose about paint and stainless trim, it’s time to get down to business. Lift this Mustangs glossy red hood and you’ll find an original 351 cubic inch Windsor V8 that’s been freshly rebuilt and produces a stout 290 horsepower. Long regarded as one of the most durable and desirable small block Fords ever created, the 1969 351 Windsor utilizes a tall deck block, heavy duty connecting rods and larger valves and ports to give Mustangs like this Shelby the stoplight muscle to back up their hot looks. At the top of the engine bay, the cars original ram air hood hovers over a correctly painted and decaled air cleaner which feeds a correct Holley 4-barrel carburetor. Below that carburetor, original heads hold correct “Cobra Powered By Ford” branded valve covers and a chrome FoMoCo breather at the sides of a GT350-exclusive aluminum Shelby intake. Fire is provided by a correct Autolite coil which sends fire to a correct points distributor and correct Autolite Radio Resistance plug wires. And cooling is provided by the cars original radiator which sends water past a correct fan to fresh Autolite hoses with correct clamps. At the sides of the engine, correct exhaust manifolds sends spent gases into a free flowing exhaust system; and at the front of the engine, a correct Autolite Sta-Ful battery, which is equipped with Autolite cables, sits opposite a correct Ford washer fluid tank. Aesthetically, the exceptionally detailed engine bay appears very close to original and features an even coat of satin black paint under correct Ford decals. And everything, from the silver accessory brackets and Autolite ignition module to the new brake booster and Motorcraft oil filter is absolutely spotless.

Take one look under this Mustang and you’ll find exceptionally clean and expertly detailed floors which are every bit as nice as the cars body. Behind the tough 351, the cars original close ratio Top Loader 4-speed transmission spins an original Ford nine inch Traction-Lok rear end which is complete with interstate friendly 3.25 gears. At the front of the car, a rebuilt double A-arm suspension holds a correct sway bar and a rebuilt factory optioned power steering system between correct power disc brakes. At the back of the car, a rebuilt leaf spring suspension holds correct drum brakes at the edges of a new stainless fuel tank. And in the middle of the car, a modern, mandrel bent exhaust system sends spent gases through an H-pipe crossover to excellent sounding Flowmaster dual chamber mufflers. Power flows to the pavement through unique 15 inch wheels which consist of aluminum center sections that are welded to chrome steel rims and wrapped in correct F60-15 Goodyear Polyglas GTs. And everything from the accurately overspread floors to the completely chalk marked suspension looks as good, or better, than when the car rolled out of the factory.

Take a look inside this GT350 and you’ll find a completely restored Deluxe Clarion Knit vinyl interior with hi-back bucket seats, fully restored gauges and bright re-chromed knobs. The rebuilt and re-covered white Clarion knit buckets are in spectacular shape both front and back, and there is no evidence of sun damage or rot on the fresh dual cowl dash pad. Inside that dash, excellent looking wood applique trims clear gauges, which include an 8,000 RPM tachometer and a 140 MPH speedometer, a functioning passenger’s side clock and a correct stereo radio. Below the dash, a full length center console holds a traditional chrome shifter above Stewart Warner oil and amps gauges, and switches for the cars fog lights and courtesy lights. At the sides of the seats, sculpted door panels are decorated with great looking wood trim, re-chromed knobs and correct Shelby emblems. At the bottom of the seats, new black carpet is bordered by Shelby sill plates and protected by red carpeted floor mats. And between the seats, a correct inertia-reel harness hangs like news seatbelts. In front of the driver, the cars original factory optioned Rim Blow deluxe steering wheel has been restored to perfectly match the wood trim on the dash and console, and features a prerequisite Shelby emblem. Behind the cockpit, a fully restored trunk props a correct mat below a fully functional courtesy light.

The sale of this awesome 1969 Mustang includes the original Ford Motor Company Build Sheet, a title/owner history and the Deluxe Marti Report outlined above.

There are a few cars that have the kind of attitude and presence of classic Shelby Mustangs. Documented, fully sorted and one of the best restored Mustangs we’ve ever had, this ‘69 GT350 drives and sounds every bit as good as it looks. If you’ve always wanted to own one of the ultimate Ford muscle cars, now’s your chance!

					1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1

We are here for you at MotoeXotica Classic Cars and will ensure your online buying experience will be a pleasurable one from start to finish. We are now in our 10th year selling on Ebay with over 1,300 positive feedbacks! MotoeXotica was one of the Pioneer Classic Car dealers on Ebay and have seen a lot of dealers come and go. We have a brick and mortar 30,000 sq. ft. building on 5 acres in St. Louis, MO to serve you; we like to sell our cars the same way as we would like to purchase them, fairly and honestly. We ask for a nominal $500.00 credit card deposit and give you a 7 day grace period to inspect the car. If you find the car not to your liking we will refund your deposit with no questions asked should you get here and not like the vehicle.

We all know that the financial times right now are tough. With the stock market being so volatile and investments becoming less valuable, many people are turning to the classic car market to invest their money. Putting your money into a hard asset that you can enjoy everyday is becoming a very popular option, especially now when the marketplace is lower then it’s been in many years. We invite you to put your money into a vehicle that is fun to own and brings back memories of when you were younger.

We offer financing through two of the best lenders in the industry. If you visit www.jjbest.com or www.woodsidecredit.com they are currently offering very attractive rates for all collector and special interest automobiles. With loan amounts from $10,000 to $500,000, and flexible terms of up to 12 years, you can get financed for as low as 6.99%.

Please feel free to contact us at anytime during the duration of the auction with any questions you may have.

1969 was the benchmark year for Ford Mustang in its proliferation of performance names and engines. No less than 7 factory performance Mustang models were available (Boss 302, Boss 429, Shelby GT350, GT500 and the Mach 1). Additionally, 9 variations of V-8s were available in the ‘69-’70 cars. The GT model was discontinued after 1969.(1969 GT sales had dropped to 4,973 vs 72,458 1969 Mach 1’s sold.) The “GT” Mustang would not be around again until 1982 on the Fox body platform.
For Ford, the Mach 1 was introduced as an in-between model, a fit between the lower priced GT and the track oriented Boss 302s and 429s. The Mach 1 started with the fastback “Sports Roof” body and added several visual and performance enhancing items such as matte black hood with hood pins, chrome gas cap and wheels, chrome exhaust tips (except 351W 2V), and dealer optional chin and rear deck spoilers, and louvers.

This particular 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 comes with a very interesting history. We recently purchased this car from a local gentleman who did the full restoration on the car. He purchased it in 1982 for a measly $600. He did this because he wanted a classic mustang to drive as his very first car! Since 1982, the car has undergone around 4 restorations. The most complete and extensive was started in 2006 and completed in 2010. We have every receipt and record for this restoration in a 2 inch thick folder. While retaining the original Mach 1 look and the original motor under the hood, the car was built to drive and not just show with its new Tremac 5 speed transmission.

The paint on the car is as close to a number 1 paint job that you will find. The car was finished with DuPont epoxy primer, color coat then cleared. The clear coat was then wet sanded and buffed to eliminate any orange peel. There has been correct striping applied to the car as well as the signature flat black on the hood. The hood scoop is from a Boss 429 which is vacuum operated and fully functional. Both front and rear chrome bumpers look perfect with no damage or pitting to be found on either. The rear glass is original for the car and shows only very small scratches. All gaps are perfect and the doors take little to no effort to close.

Inside, the high back buckets are both new as well as nearly every other interior component. The attention to detail on the car is second to none. From the rim blow steering wheel to the clock, everything on the car works perfectly. The carpet is new as well as the headliner, door panels, dash and gauges. The car retains its original AM radio but has had updated gauges installed.

The motor is the original for the car but has been bored and stroked to 427 Cu In. The 351 windsor block was bored .060 with a Scat forged steel crank stroked for 427 cu in. Scat H beam rods were used as well as Diamond forged pistons for a 10:1 compression. Other add on’s include ARP fasteners. Cleveland iron 2 barrel heads, open chamber, Screw in rocker studs, hardened seats, port matched and Crane roller rockers. The mild custom roller cam was ground specifically for this application. A dual plane aluminum B/A Street Boss intake manifold was used for the Cleveland/Windsor application. A Barry Grant Street Demon 750 carb is new feeding this monster with annular boosters. Jetting done with AFR meter. Electronics are handled with a Pertronix 2 with Second Strike box, Flamethrower coil and dual conductor ignition wires. The Cleveland 4 barrel exhaust manifolds were modified to fit the 2 barrel heads. These manifolds have massive passages with no restriction. The transmission has been modified with a Kiesler modified TKO 500 transmission, hydraulic throw out bearing, Centerforce Dual friction clutch, 3.00 Ford 9 inch rear, Traction Lock and new steel driveshaft.

The underside of the car is all correct with iron oxide paint and NO undercoating. The suspension is a RRS McPherson strut front suspension system with RRS power rack/pinion steering. The rear has been updated with higher rate rear leaf springs and all new bushings. All in all, this is one incredible Mach 1 that has had over $75,000 invested to bring it to the level you see today. VIN number is 9F02H158452 and the current mileage is 4,329 which is what’s on the restoration. The car is being sold on a clean Missouri title.

All used vehicles should be assumed to have some degree of wear. No vehicle is perfect to everyone. Each vehicle has its strengths, styles, tendencies and shortcomings. Therefore, despite our best efforts to verify a vehicle’s mechanical condition, we are not able to warranty a manufacturer’s workmanship or previous owner’s diligence in care. It is for this reason that all vehicles are sold “AS IS”. We have described the above mentioned vehicle to the best of our ability.
