Frame Off Built Mustang Eleanor 393 Stroker V8 6 Speed

Who can forget the 2000 remake of “Gone in 60 Seconds”? Chock-full of Hollywood A-listers, it’s a fast paced, high octane classic which twists and turns through two hours of adrenaline fueled action. And the first time the star of the movie, a 1967 Mustang GT500 known as Eleanor, rolled out of its parking garage and pulled a full throttle 360 to kick off one of the most epic chase scenes in history, every gearhead on the planet instantly had a new favorite car! Naturally there have been many Eleanors created, but when you ‘put your car into character’ you’re inviting every red-blooded ‘expert’ at the show to come over, analyze the details and passionately lecture you about whether or not your doppelganger is doing the original any justice. That love it or hate it polarity ultimately reflects itself in prices, and while sloppy builds get relegated to the cost of their collective parts, well-done cars, like the one Barrett-Jackson sold two weeks ago for $220K, find themselves at big venues bringing big money. This 1967 Mustang GT fastback has been converted into a spectacular, no holds barred Eleanor which is second to none. From its 393 stroker V8 and 6-speed manual transmission, to its highly authentic interior and Carroll Shelby autographed dash, this car is the stuff dreams are made of!

Designed by famed Hot Rod illustrator Steve Stanford, built by celebrity car builder Chip Foose and listed by Hot Rod magazine as one of 100 most influential vehicles in the history of hot rodding, the original Eleanor was actually 11 different Mustangs that were uniquely equipped for different shots throughout the movie. However most excellent reproductions, like the 1967 Mustang GT you see here, honor the close-up cars which carried a full body kit, Shelby inspired trim bits, and an obligatory manual transmission. With parts on order and a plan in hand, the build of this no expenses spared Eleanor began with a thorough media blasting, which stripped the car down to bare metal, and a complete rotisserie reconstruction which fixed and smoothed all of its pans and jams both inside and out. Next came a complete rebuild of the exterior panels during which the car was fitted with all new sheetmetal on every facet but its roof and upper quarters, and everything was restored and fitted to better-than-new condition. Once the car was solid in all the right places a high quality Eleanor body kit, was bolted up along with all new seals and covered in correct Dupont Fleet Pepper Gray Metallic, detailed with correct Dupont Black Metallic stripes, buried in durable and glossy clearcoat shell, and buffed to the spectacular shine you see today. The result is a lust-worthy fastback tribute car which looks good enough to be the real deal!

Most muscle car enthusiasts credit Carroll Shelby with introducing some of the coolest and most aggressive Mustangs ever created; so it’s only natural that the original Eleanor bodywork would be based on his designs. At the leading edge of this re-imagined Mustang a Shelby style billet grille with horizontal bars holds an offset “Shelby GT500″ emblem between two clear halogen headlights and two HID driving lights. Below that grille, a Shelby ‘R’ style front valence incorporates two correct PIAA fog lights into an enlarged and billet filled air intake which is centered between two correct PIAA driving lights. At the top of the grille, an aggressive fiberglass hood perfectly aligns two replica hood pins between the car’s fiberglass front fenders and fiberglass front valence; and like-new glass, which includes a jet black rear window, is bordered by straight stainless trim which looks so fresh it could’ve come straight off the showroom floor. The profile of this Mustang presents a slick purpose-built race car appearance which is only interrupted by pristine chrome door handles, correct chrome bullet style Shelby mirrors, a correct flip up fuel filler, and rear Shelby style air scoops. And at the back of the car, a Black Metallic rear valence, which is flanked by Shelby style extensions, hangs a pristine “Shelby GT500″ emblem and like-new Mercury Cougar tail lights above a straight and show worthy body-matched bumper and chrome trimmed reverse lights.

Pop the fiberglass hood on this sinister Mustang and you’ll find a bored and decked 393 cubic inch Eagle V8 which strokes a stout 10 to 1 compression ratio into roughly 500 horsepower and gives new meaning to the words “Go Baby, Go”. At the top of the blue block, a Barry Grant Speed Demon carburetor utilizes a CSR billet linkage to mix air from a K&N Vortex air cleaner with fuel from a 110 GPH Holley fuel pump. Below that carburetor, a port matched Edelbrock aluminum intake props an MSD billet distributor between Edelbrock Victor Jr. aluminum heads which have been equipped with a complete Comp Cams roller valve train and slick Carroll Shelby Unique Performance valve covers. That valve train is sparked by an MSD 6AL ignition system which sends fire from an MSD Blaster coil to red Ford Racing plug wires. And those heads are cooled by an aluminum and chrome trimmed Be Cool radiator which sends water through chrome flex hoses, and three quick spinning electric fans, to a high flow water pump. At the front of the block, a March serpentine system spins a chrome power steering pump, a polished AC compressor and a chrome alternator behind billet aluminum pulleys. And at the sides of the block, BBK ceramic coated long tube headers send spent gases into a great sounding true dual exhaust system. The exceptionally detailed engine bay features the same Black Metallic on Pepper Gray Metallic paint scheme as the rest of the car; and everything from its fender mounted fuel pressure gauge and chrome brake booster to its complete set of ARP fasteners and braided hoses is absolutely spotless.

The bottom of this awesome Mustang is just as impressive as its exterior and engine bay. Behind the stroked motor you’ll find a fresh Tremec T-56 6-speed manual transmission that’s been bolted to a McLeod clutch and a JMC hydraulic slave. Lift the third pedal and that modern transmission sends power to a fresh Ford nine inch Traction Lok rear end which is equipped with beefy 3.89 gears. At the front of the car, new tubular steel control arms combine with a thick anti-sway bar, new coilovers and a chrome accented power steering system to provide sharp turns; and at the back of the car, Grab-a-trak five leaf mid eye springs utilize a rear sway bar, high performance traction bars and KYB Gas-A-Just shocks to provide excellent grip. Stopping is a cinch thanks to a four wheel disc Wilwood system which clamps 13 inch drilled and slotted front rotors through six piston calipers and 12 inch drilled and slotted rear rotors through four piston calipers. And exhaust is handled by a custom fabricated 2.5 inch true dual system which features great sounding Hooker Super Competition Aero Chamber mufflers. In the middle of the car, Maier tubular subframe connectors, which feature a built in X-brace, contrast well to the spotless satin black floors; and at the back of the car, a 15 gallon pro street aluminum fuel cell sends dino juice through 6 AN braided lines, Earl’s fittings and a billet fuel regulator. Power flows to the ground through correctly finished 18 inch Eleanor wheels which wrap CORRECTLY TREADED 245/40 front and 285/35 rear Nitto Extreme ZR radials around “Eleanor” branded spinners and chrome locking lug nuts. Every detail under this slick Mustang, from the chassis new stainless hardware to the engines chrome oil filter cover, has been carefully planned and professionally executed.

Take a look inside the car and you’ll find a highly accurate vinyl interior which looks so crisp and well done that it could’ve been used for close-up shots in the actual movie. At the center of the car, high back Mach 1 bucket seats wear new L&R padding between correct body-matched RJS harnesses. Below those seats, new black carpet props silver stitched Cobra floor mats in front of a chrome fire extinguisher, a correct Nitrous switch, and a great looking chrome Shelby shifter which is topped with a correct “Go Baby Go” button. At the front of the car, a spectacular looking black and Pepper Gray Metallic dash holds Auto Meter Pro Comp Ultra Lite gauges and a silver Carroll Shelby signature above controls for the cars Perfect Fit climate control system and an MP3 and satellite compatible Kenwood CD player which bumps beats through a 720 watt Kenwood amp and front and rear Infinity speakers. And at the sides of the car, Pepper Gray and black door panels hang new chrome handles and stainless accents below power door locks which engage and disengage based on when the engine starts and stops. In front of the driver, a polished Flaming River tilt steering column hangs a polished aluminum and wood rimmed Grant Signature Series steering wheel above billet cobra pedals. And behind the cockpit, a fully finished trunk houses an aluminum boxed Optima battery across from a Bazooka bass tube that’s cleverly disguised as a nitrous bottle. In addition to modern security locks and an ear murdering sound system, this Mustangs 12 circuit Painless wiring harness allows for both remote keyless entry and a Viper alarm system that remotely pages its owner when security is breached.

Included with the sale of this awesome Eleanor build is a signed Carroll Shelby certificate of authenticity which guarantees that the signature on the cars dash is 100% authentic, and a detailed display board.

Absolutely no expense was spared on this 1967 Mustang GT500 Eleanor. It combines professional grade performance hardware with what is arguably one of the best-looking Mustangs of all time to create a take-no-prisoners muscle car. If you’re looking for an instantly recognizable classic that is scary fast and an absolute blast to drive, we have the car for you!

1967 Ford Mustang Coupe
351 Windsor – T5 Transmission – 9 Inch Rear EndUp for auction is this 1967 Ford Mustang Couple. It has a 351 Windsor Engine, T5 transmission, and Ford 9-inch rear end. This is a running and driving car and I have a clear title in hand, ready to transfer to the new owner.

The paint and body on this car need some serious attention. It looks OK from a distance but not too great up close. I have tried to photograph the most notable aspects of the paint and body work. Let me say it one more time – This car needs some paint and body work!

I bought the car on eBay sometime between Dec 2005 and January 2006 (can’t remember exactly). I titled the car on January 19th, 2006. When I bought the car the paint and body were exactly as you see it in the photos with the exception of the racing stripes. The car had a solid drive train so I wasn’t too worried about the paint and body. I flew from Louisiana down to Florida and I drove the car home.

The racing stripes are not painted on. They are vinyl. I had them added after I bought the car.

I am pretty sure that no bidder is going to be totally satisfied with the condition of the body and paint work. I have taken this into consideration and priced the car accordingly.
The Good

351 Windsor
New Edelbrock carburetor
New HEI ignition
New gas tank
Disc brake conversion on front brakes
Alarm system with aftermarket power door locks
Tinted windows
The Bad

Material on door panels needs to be re-glued
Shifter trim needs to be mounted
Needs some TLC here and there to make it a little nicer
The Ugly

Paint has drips
You can see overlaps in the paint
Needs some bodywork here and there
Needs cosmetic touch-ups here and there on both interior and exterior

See video about this car: http://youtu.be/1CqcoNYa-y0
Shipping

It is the buyer’s responsibility to make any and all arrangements for the shipping of this vehicle. The vehicle can be picked up at my commercial location in Shreveport, Louisiana or it can be picked up at my house in Grand Cane, Louisiana

Deposit

A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction’s close. If a deposit is not made, or other prearranged agreement has been made the car will be re-listed. The balance can be paid in cash or with a Cashier’s Check that can be verified.

This is a used car and there is no warranty or guarantee express or implied.

This is my grandfathers original mustang with an automatic 289 2bbl. He is the second owner and the car has been warehoused it’s entire life. It does have the original pony interior, all the gauges still work and the heater still blows hot. I have recently went through and replaced all hoses, battery, tires and of course fluids multiple times within the past couple of weeks. Even with me “testing” it around town, it still has less than 55,000 original miles, closer to 54,300. He has a large collection of cars that he has just gotten too old to care to keep anymore. I just got in the new weather stripping for the door windows and will install it soon unless the. We owner wants to do it. It does have a few paint imperfections ( spots on roof top) from over the years but is really in excellant shape and a blast to drive.

Hello

For your consideration is this beautifully restored 1967 Mustang Convertible.

We are Smith Bros. Hot Rods & Classics located in Marion, Ohio. A small group of car guys dedicated to building and restoring classic cars & hot rods.

Starting with the Engine and drive train. We have a very heathly and fresh 289 cubic inch small block V8 putting out somewhere in the 300 hp range. The engine has a very nice thumping cam shaft, new Edelbrock 600 cfm 4 barrel carburetor with electric choke, new internal components, radiator, dual exhaust system with headers and Flowmaster mufflers and lots of chrome & billet goodies.

The transmission is the Tremmec TKO 5 speed manual with overdrive. It’s really a neat conversion and a whole lot of fun to drive . The engine & transmission work very well together and with the overdrive does pretty well with fuel mileage.

The interior is very nice, done in two tone blue with new seat covers, door panels, floor mats carpet, kick panels with speakers and new stereo. All gauges, interior lights and switches as well as the power top work as they should.

Wheels & tires: The wheels are a 5 Spoke 17″ x 8″ rear and 17″ x 7″ front. Showwheel Streeters mounted on Goodyear F1 directional radials This combination really sets the car off.

The body is lazer straight and the paint is beautiful and done in PPG’s base coat clear coat system then rubbed to a deep gloss.

The car has many new parts which include, windshield, outside mirror, door handles, bumpers, tail lights, power convertible top, parade boot, door & trunk locks, front grille, rocker moldings, weather strips, window fuzzies, backup lights, front and rear shocks, brakes, belts and hoses and much more. If the car needed it then it got it.

Many dollars spent on this car and it shows we paid alot of attention to the details.

This car will turn heads and will win its share of throphy’s at the car shows and cruise ins.

Please bid with confidence as this is truely a beautiful classic the will continue to Increase in value.

We require a 10% deposit due 48 hours after auctions end and the balance is due prior to pickup or shipping.

Please call if you have questions or email through Ebay my phone # 740- 361-8645

We reserve the right to end the auction early.

Thanks for looking and please read our feedback.
